Great cape. The fabric is as Daniel says. One of the chains detached after a few minutes of handling, but it is a simple problem to fix.

This cape is far more than I expected. The fabric of the cape is a heavier cotton material, thick with a "rustic" look to it (not smooth cotton, more like a weave). It has two black chains at the collar, which seem to be attached well. The chains are the only thing I would worry about possibly breaking one day, but it would be easily fixable. I am very happy with this cape and would recommend it.
