The Nordic warrior held his weapon in great reverence and often lavished them with elaborate decorations. Our example displays a Viking dragon knot work motif. This is the perfect size for one handed combat in conjunction with a shield. The decorated head is tempered steel and the shaft is from a good hardwood. A great choice to finish out your Viking gear. A Viking's equipment consisted of sword, sax, axe, spear and round shield, the quality of which indicated a warrior's social status. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

This is a nice two handed axe. Its light enough to use with one hand as well. The head is affixed to the handle nicely, but the handle sticks out from the top about one or two inches (at least the one I received). I don't mind that really. The Dragon knot on one side has some spots that where not engraved very well, but again, I don't mind. This makes it uniquely mine. Love this axe. I do recommend you get this.

I am an axe fan. Found this axe to be well-built and solid. Blade is on the thin side, as I understand originals were. Good for shearing through stuff. Engraving was so-so, shallow and not very elaborate. Axe is long and I found a bit awkward and slow with one-hand use in flourishing drills but still lively and effective. For me this axe came alive with two-handed use. Much livelier, quicker and deadlier. Blade is long with plenty of space to hook. Seems to be well-built and sturdy, tho I have yet to practice with it on the poll or hard targets. So far, I like it and feel it could be quite useful.
