To protect the back of the hand, we have added mail on our black leather gauntlets and also placed slightly cupped steel lames all around the cuff. These gauntlets offer good protection to the hand, wrist and lower arm from a sword slash or draw cut. There's a pair much like these at the Art Institute of Chicago that are highly decorative, however we have left ours plain to keep the price down and to allow them to be historically correct from the Early Middle Ages well into the Renaissance. These mail gauntlets are a must for any enthusiast. Choose from sizes XS, S, M, L and XL.

These are good for versatile hand protection & mobility, however the stitching for these have a tendency come undone from the chain mail due to extensive use, but is rather quite repairable with a couple of pliers if you know what your doing.

Issue with gloves will break by mail if use too much

Great hand and arm armor at a more affordable price than plate gauntlets or vambraces. Both the mail and the leather show good craftsmanship. A friendly warning though--when gripping a sword tightly with these or swinging a sword, the mail rings might dig in to any leather around the hilt and cause slight damage.
