Riveted Steel is the most sought after and difficult mail to make. The end of each mild steel link is flattened and riveted. Faithfully copied from examples in museums and private collections, each end of mild steel link has been dipped in Zinc to prevent rust. Mail shirts fit up to a 54” chest with a 33” long shirt. Sleeves are approximately 18” and hang to just below the elbows on average height warriors. Express delivery not available on mail. Mail Shirts add $6 each additional s/h. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

I'm 5-10 and 260 lbs; no problem with fit or ability to move and swing a sword. As with all armor, it's hot when you get active, especially if you're already the sweaty typelike me. The only trouble I have is getting the mail shirt off - since I passed age 50 I'm not as flexible as in the past. Remember, too, there's just no stretch in mail, unlike most fabrics. That may be the source of "tight fit" comments (I'm not exactly slim!) Sam Young

The steel is not as think as i had hoped, and I do not have a 54 inch chest but the mail seems tight to me!

This is good for most avarage builds. Note that on a 6'-2", 250lb guy it wont fit so well. Also the sleeves on taller warriors may not hang below the elbow nor will the "hem" fall to mid thigh thus leaving your unmentionables exposed to not only the whipping of the chain as you run but open to attack! Still, great to have some rivited chain!!!!! I never would have thought all those years ago I would ever own some! Oh and i've had mine for two years now and its becomming duller (thank god) for those worried about the shiny zinc coating and looking like a poser. The butted chain I made 20 plus years or ago is now a very nice sheen of grey, it to was zinc plated (electric fence wire) when I purchased it! I still need the coif, it is on my wish list.
