*Drool*... ugh.. sooooo awesome. It arrived less than a week after ordering (in flawless condition), and I promptly destroyed some pallets with a vengeance. The spike actually snapped a treated 4x4 in half with one good swing! I swear to god it was the coolest thing ever. Perfect zombie killer -- you could puncture an engine block with this thing. The only downside is that the handle on it is much lighter (unfinished) than in the picture, but some tongue oil will fix that right up. Can't wait til the wife leaves again so I can find more useless crap to destroy. Well done windlass!

I liked this hammer from the picture as I prefer things a little understated; but it has to held in the hand to be appreciated. The pointed rear, nearly perfectly balances it in the hand when swinging to strike with the flat at the angle of the wrist. This design is much more advanced than you can understand until it is in your hand. The forward tilt to balance it in the hand is about 18 degrees, which is near perfect ergonomics. The balance allows you to swing a very heavy hammer very quickly and with very good control. The size and proportions are at the balance point between one and 2 handed use also, but you feel the power of this hammer best swinging it with one hand. Again it has to be held in the hand to be appreciated fully. I own nearly 2 dozen warhammers and battle axes and this is the best balanced; and I am sure the one I could deliver the hardest blows with. I would recomend this hammer to anyone as the first choice.
