The ancient Frankish Warriors would form a rough line an arm’s throw from their foe and hurl light spears and these axes before charging in with sword and shield for individual combat. This distinct axe is perfect for throwing with its solid steel head and hardwood shaft. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

Love this axe. It has a very "rough & ready" finish like it was made by some local smith, but it's graceful & sturdy. The head on mine is very solidly affixed. I am not an axe-thrower, but the solid construction definitely looks like it'd hold up in practice or competition.

This is a beautiful axe, both in appearance and in feel, unlike another francesca I purchased from a competitor that looks nice, but would not stand up to even moderate use despite their claims to the contrary. Although this is to be expected, my only excuse is that you had not yet put out this little (figuratively only..that one truly IS little by comparison) beauty. Thank you
