A good glove for the gentleman. They are not a sturdy protection gauntlet though.

These gloves worked perfectly for me. They won't protect your hand from a straight on sword thrust but very few gloves will. These look great, feel great, and go great with just about any weapons in my extensive collection.

Very simply, they are a beautiful pair of gloves that have the incomparable smell of genuine leather. However - The stitching does seem to be a problem. So the quality of thread is not impressive. They can be mended fairly easily. I am on my third pair. Unfortunately, these are NOT fencing gauntlets. Nor can they really stand up to the stresses of martial activity. However, they do look sharp! Of course, LOOKING sharp doesn’t exactly win fencing bouts, does it?

The glove portion is so thin and soft the ONLY thing these are good for is show at renn faires. they would offer little to no protection for any kind of weapons work

These are nice, soft, quality gauntlets. A good buy! A nice feature is that the finger length is generous and allows the glove to fit tight into the "crotch" of the fingers for better mobility resulting is better sword control. However, there are light weight leather and not heavy enough to offer any real hand protection. I use mine for dressing up on Rennfest day or when handling swords during a showing or WMA demonstration. I had to repair mine a few times after heavy use, the stitching at the finger tips did not hold up, but easy to repair.

The soft leather of the glove proper is too soft and subject to tearing after even light use at the finger seams. Worse yet my first pair tore a finger clear off when I tried to remove the glove after sweaty combat somewhat shrank the leather to my hand during my second day of use. The second pair had similar issues along the thumb seam on the left hand. Fortunately I was able to salvage one right glove and one left to use for light duty dress gloves, but as gauntlets they are a disappointment.
