The long-cuff construction of these supple, leather gauntlets has been seen throughout the ages. Our gauntlets come undecorated to let you customize for your favorite era. The palm, hand and fingers are made of soft, pliable leather, so supple they give you the kind of flexibility you would expect from driving gloves. These dress black leather gauntlets are available in S, M, L, XL & XXL (add $5.00).

The soft leather of the glove proper is too soft and subject to tearing after even light use at the finger seams. Worse yet my first pair tore a finger clear off when I tried to remove the glove after sweaty combat somewhat shrank the leather to my hand during my second day of use. The second pair had similar issues along the thumb seam on the left hand. Fortunately I was able to salvage one right glove and one left to use for light duty dress gloves, but as gauntlets they are a disappointment.

These are nice, soft, quality gauntlets. A good buy! A nice feature is that the finger length is generous and allows the glove to fit tight into the "crotch" of the fingers for better mobility resulting is better sword control. However, there are light weight leather and not heavy enough to offer any real hand protection. I use mine for dressing up on Rennfest day or when handling swords during a showing or WMA (western martial arts) demonstration. I had to repair mine a few times after heavy use, the stitching at the finger tips did not hold up, but easy to repair with some black nylon thread. But again this was after heavy use. I only with MRL ofered a few more color choice, I would get a few more pairs. David Cellini WMA student & collector of A&A
