This is perfect for Halloween, or when you have to do that last-minute inquisition. As others have said, the XXL is quite long when you are 6 feet, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Received mine today. It is perfect and made from a very nice fabric. I am 180cm (6 feet) with a medium-large build. I had ordered te XXL version, it is a little bit long for my size, especially the arms. But If you want to have a cool long robe which partially sweeps the floor, still you might prefer this size.

I bought mine in black to as part of a Halloween costume and found that it is awesome for a number of occasions beyond what I bought it for. They say one size fits all, well this may be true. I found my fit much better after I had it tailored to my height and size.

This is a great robe, I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to use it in dry conditions. Also it keeps you quite warm in cold climates. For me the only thing I find annoying is the hood, which doesn't keep wide across my face, it touches my eyes, but that may be just to do with the shape of my head.

My crimson robe arrived today (shipped super fast too) and it's solid! One size does indeed fit most! I am 6'3", 245lbs, 17.5" neck, 46 chest, 37 sleeve, and 36 waist; this garment engulfs me AND touches the floor. I've got a 24" melon for a head and the hood fits over that with ease as well. Probably going to order a more authentic waist cord/rope cincture from a clergy supply store, but otherwise this robe is class.

This is really a beautifully made robe. It has a suitably coarse appearance, but yet is very comfortable. The sole failing which prevents a five-star rating is that it's too darn short. The hem SHOULD be almost along the ground, for me - Joe Average at 5'10" - It comes up to like top-of-sock level. That's just too short. Making clothing that's a bit too big is better than too small! You can always fix Big.

Wow, the ONE thing that MR makes that fits me (and more)!!! I got the 2XL with some trepidation because I usually wear 3-4XL shirts - NOT TO WORRY! I'm 6'1", 300+ lbs and this thing is voluminous. Even with my massive shoulders, massive chest, and massive gut, this thing went right down to the ground. It is the perfect length cuz when I step, it "just" rides up over my foot so I don't walk on the hem. The material has a rough almost burlap texture but the inside is smooth and comfortable. The sleeves are long and cover the hands so it looks very...monkly and kinda mysterious. The only problem that wasn't a problem were the arm holes...they looked too small but when I put the robes on (over a heavy shirt) the robe fit fine with plenty of room for movement. The hood is very cool, it fits my giant grape perfectly and the back part is long and deep. I only had two problems with this robe, the first is the cheesy sash...it's made out of a heavy duty twill material and is very long but isn't really religious or anything; I think it was kind of an afterthought. The other problem was the hook at the throat. It's a modern metal wire hook and loop clasp assembly; very cheesy and soon to be replaced...I just have to figure out if I want to use a lacing system or some kinda toggle thing. But, overall, I'm phenomenally happy with this thing!!! IT FITS!!! w00t!!!

this habit is absolutely awesome. since i feel called to the diocesan(parish) priesthood in the Catholic Church I dont get a habit or any monastic stuff which i enjoy because I am a medieval history and church history fanatic. So i decided, i cant be monk but i cn have a habit of my own. the robe portion will work excellent as a cassock-like substitute around the parish on slow days and in the winter with the hood piece added. plus im just a history nut so i like to have outfits from different periods, but medieval is my favorite. the sash is poor though and just plain innaccuate. the benedictines would use a leather belt or a heavey black cord, like the Franciscans with their white cords. but awesome product overall. Before I received my Robe I truly did not know what to expect, however upon receiving it I was down right impressed at the craftsmanship that went in to making it. I bought two of these robes in black for ritual use, and I am absolutely pleased with them. They are hand woven, a detail that I think should be included in the description. They are warm, sturdy and perfect for those of us who hold rituals out of doors. A nice coat of Scotch-guard and you have a wonderful robe for any conditions. I just received the Monk's Robe in the mail today. I ordered brown, because of my interest in Saint Francis. This is a very comfortable piece to wear, even though the fabric is heavy, and rough. I indeed will replace the belt for a Franciscan style one later on. A very nice, well made habit. Try tying the belt in three knots on each side, like the Franciscan order Friars do, until you can get a better sash. The belt is the only thing that is not Franciscan. Not a big problem, for the rest of the look or apprearance is great! If you want a nice habit, or something nice & warm but different, then this is the right item for you. Thanks you very much M.R. It Was The Perfect Choice For A Meditation/ Study Robe! It's Got A Wonderful Deep Hood Good For Blocking Out Distracting Light And Keeping Satisfyingly Warm Around A Cold Home Or Even Outside In The Cutting Wind Of An October Night (Like I Did For Halloween). It's Definitely More Attractive Than It's Appearance Displayed In The Picture. There's A Very Satisfying Feel To The Texture, The Warmth, And The Appearance That Just Makes It Functionally Beautiful To Wear And Pleasent To Look At. I just received this robe in the mail and I was quite shocked with it. I know it said it was generously cut for the most devote, but I wasn't sure how long the robe would be and I was worried because I am 6'2" and didn't want the robe to end at my knees. Well the robe lays right at my feet for those who are concerned with the length of this garment. Great item for such a reasonable price.

Very comfortable, and VERY large. (I usually wear a 2xlt shirt) and the regular size fits very well. The sleeves are a several inches too long, but beyond that an excellent garment!

They are amazingly tough and comfortable I mainly use it for hiking during the late fall and all through winter. I live in Minnesota so it works for when the snow hasn't fallen but there is a brisk cold out. It amazingly won't tear. I also work with a re-enactment group, and a guy and me were sparing. I had my favorite practice sword and shield. My friend had a practice claymore. While we were sparing i got my robe stuck on a crack in his practice sword and to my surprise it only has a small hole, when all other monk robes i buy at other sites have torn clear down. (My friend tells me not to wear just that robe when spqrring, but i have never been struck by anyone in my company. I just trained at the sword for so long i go for the most versatile clothes not the toughest armor, and these monk robes work amazingly.

My wife brought this robe for me to use as a monk at our local Renaissance festival. It was nicely made and for the price and excellent buy. Our festival is the first weekend of October and it was perfect for that time nice and warm.

This is probably the most multi-use garment offered to date. Perfect for fairs and festivals, Holloween or even as a bath/lounging robe. While it states "dry clean", I intentionally washed and dried it in hot settings for both, hoping for some shrinkage due to my tall and thin build to no ill effect! note: IF you decide to machine wash, do so alone as there is a small amount of dye bleed. Again, well done, MR's!

The quality is unbelievable for the price. The fabric is a nice weight. The only drawback is for us smaller framed guys, it's a bit large and long, but nothing that can't be fixed.
