Perfect for 3rd order friars
The craftsmanship is superb.  I am 6' tall and 280lbs girth and it fits rather well.  The hood is a bit old fashioned, but works well otherwise.  The cincture is not at all what I wanted so I purchased 18' of white rope and tied the knots myself.  The presentation on camera is perfect.  This is a heavy garment, so summer wearing is like a sweat lodge.  Also, I washed it the moment it arrived in a regular hot load with no bleach and it didn't seem to shrink or discolor at all.  I realize it says dry clean, but I wanted the kind of look a well used habit would present.  I may trim the hood and use the material to make pockets and a knee patch.  With a silver rosary from Mexico the presentation is superb.  I have 2 other habits from the web that are complete BS.  This one is the real Mc Francis!

Excellent!!
So I just received my Robe today, I have to say I was somewhat nervous after paying $140 which might not be as nice as the pictures and product info suggest. When I saw the box it was delivered in I became worried also, a rather small package for a supposedly big heavy Robe. So I hastily opened the box and to my relief it was stunning, this is not a cheap quality Robe by any means, this is the real deal and far from just a costume. It is definitely worth the money and very high quality manufactured!
The only thing that I was somewhat disappointed about was seeing those 3 nasty words on the Tag & Garment was "Dry Clean Only". Like any garment shipped in the mail it has creases in from folding and a new garment smell, there was nothing more that I wanted to do was gently wash it but I was terrible I might ruin it. So after 2 days of research on washing heavy Cotton vs Dry Cleaning I came up with as long as it’s washed on DELICATE cycle in COLD water, with just a small amount of gentle detergent  and then hung to dry it should be ok. I was so nervous but I went for it praying I didn’t make a $140 mistake. It came out just fine, no damage or shrinkage what so ever. Please don’t wash your garment because of my review, only if you choose to do so yourself. Believe me even if it was to shrink a little it would be a benefit to most people because this Robe is a beast, there’s plenty of room in this thing, it’s big. I’m 5’ 8” and it goes rite to the floor. So with all that being said I absolutely love it! Believe me you won’t be disappointed 😁

I miss my old Habit
I purchased my first Habit from these folks about 7 years ago.  I wore well and It was my go-to wear for the Ren Faire or Halloween.  My ex-wife stole it.  So, as soon as I get my COVID check, I be back in the Habit again. .

Generally well done
The robe itself is well done.  The hood is much smaller than pictured, not at all generous in size, and a disappointment.  The belt is a joke.  The robe would have had a  cincture at the waist — a 12 foot rope about an inch in diameter and made from a natural fiber, usually cotton.  It was doubled and fastened with a cincture knot (see YouTube).  The cord had a "monk's knot" at the end, with or without a fringed end.

Without Question/ A first rate bit of cloathing
Readers: This author is an historical tailor with YEARS of sewing to his roster-so judge the Review by that.
Onward-- I was seeking a Monk Robe{ age and aging eyes have ended my sewing days} to wear around the house, and when I got out in the New Plague &  publick, I wished to be dressed well.
This garment is made in the correct fashion. This is NOT a tube of polyester sewn by a 10 yr China slave laborer who knows nothing. This is the correct 05 panel robe, with a demi lune hem. When you get it on, the excess tucks, as it should, neat and out of the way, at the sides. The Cowl is made correct for the Middle Ages. The fabrick is first rate, it appears course, but is good to wear.
To note; I am 05 ft & 08 inches tall. The robe fit well to the shoulders, under arms, and neck. The sleeves were very long. Easy; a French Cuff. The length was 04 inches too long. That is the 'easy part'. This garment must fit well around the upper body. The fullness should begin just under the arms; for this to fit correctly.
So, I hemmed mine up, and now it will not drag in the mud, nor trip me up using stairs.  It should hang as does a pair of good dress trowsers to. BEWARE! Altering the hem line is NOT a job for an beginer. Understand the construction BEFORE you go to and alter this for length.
I cannot give this garment any higher rating--there are not words in the English tongue enough. IT IS NOT A HALLOWEEN PROP!  It is a real and functional item of apparel. In sooth, I wear it now as I type this. The cowl I made the mistake of putting on the table after a run outdoors to the mailbox{ Yes, Virginia- the cowl is an item worn when you go out of doors, it is not, tho it has become, and indoor garment--think of it as a hat, with skirting}. Thus my Cat is curled up in it, purring madly, and fast to sleep. Hmm! do not Cats know comfort and quality?  Perhaps that is the best Endorsement of this garment

Friar Robe
This was a great robe that kept the hot sun off my head.  I did have to get it tailored when I got it.  Dry cleaned up nicely.

Halloween costume
It's black. Looks great. I wear it with a skull mask and skeletal gloves. Scares the hell out of the rugrats on Halloween.

The real deal
I am very impressed with the quality. Hand made out of cotton I believe, not nylon or polyester like the the fake stuff you find in a costume store. I ordered the standard size and if fits me (5’8”, 180 lbs) loosely as a monk’s robe should. It’s warm, not too hot. I suspect the only thing keeping this from being 100% real is I doubt monks wore dry clean only habits.

At 350lbs and 5'10" I was very worried that I wouldn't fit this robe.  I called and customer service assured me with the exact dimensions. Very friendly customer service.  I'm glad I took a chance because it fits great.  Not a whole lot of room left over at the chest and shoulders but enough that it is comfortable.  I have about a 59" chest btw.  I'm very impressed with the quality of the material, it's warm but not too much.  It is a little tall but at 5'10" I was expecting that, I'm thinking a good rope belt will help that and I won't have to modify.  To any big folks out there who might hesitate like I did, it is definitly a good buy.  I'd also like to mention that I got the black robe and it looks a lot nicer than in the picture.  The picture makes the color look dull and faded but it's not.  It's a nice deep tone of black.

The right size, right fit and great fabric choice. I'm 6'1" and this goes just enough to so I'm not rubbing on ground or walking on it and still keeping my feet hidden. It fits perfectly around the neck and shoulders. I like the bit of weight it holds. Not too heavy to wear for long periods and heavy enough that I don't worry about it wearing thin quickly. I've been very comfortable in it. I'm very impressed.

An excellent buy. I agree that the belt leaves much to be desired, and I'd rather a button than a wire clasp at the back of the neck. However, the robe itself is heavy-duty, comfortable, and as roomy as a tent. Also very long - I'm 5'11-ish and needed the belt to hike the hem off the ground. Wearing a belt helps reduce the weight like a rucksack, letting it settle around the hips rather than hang from the shoulders. Also very warm w/o becoming oppressive. The whole ensemble is so comfy that I've actually worn it in the apartment on long weekends. (Naturally, that was the one time some delivery blokes knocked on the door looking for another address. Being decked out in full monkish regalia, I didn't have time to ditch the habit, so answered the door as I was. No explanation was asked for; none given.)

I have had my eye on this product for several years but, due to my size and no clear reviews stating whether or not it would fit, was hesitant to purchase. I am 6'5" and 240 lbs. Finally broke down and ordered and I am SO HAPPY with my choice. It fits like a dream. It practically comes to the floor, so that I have to be a little careful when walking up stairs so I don't trip. It looks amazing and the quality is top notch. I ordered in black and must say I look totally bad ass in this thing. Look out, Renn Fest!

I was a bit worried upon hearing from others who bougt this about how big the robe would be. I'm a 5'3" woman and Ithought I would need to get it hemmed. The length ended up being perfect! I used it to create a Radagast costume for The Hobbit triple feature at my local movie theater. Needless to say it was a huge hit. I got many wonderful compliments. It is very comfortable and lighter than it looks. I highly recommend this robe and this company. This is my 6th clothing item I have ordered from them and, as always, the item surpassed my expectations!! Thank you again Museum Replicas!!
