I was a bit worried upon hearing from others who bougt this about how big the robe would be. I'm a 5'3" woman and Ithought I would need to get it hemmed. The length ended up being perfect! I used it to create a Radagast costume for The Hobbit triple feature at my local movie theater. Needless to say it was a huge hit. I got many wonderful compliments. It is very comfortable and lighter than it looks. I highly recommend this robe and this company. This is my 6th clothing item I have ordered from them and, as always, the item surpassed my expectations!! Thank you again Museum Replicas!!

This thing is very high quality, doubly so when you consider the price.
It doesn't look chintzy or cheap - it looks period-authentic and as though it cost a lot more than it does.
It's also very versatile: you could use it for a monk, mage, vampire, necromancer...etc.
The material is a rough-woven cotton, but despite it's rough appearance the fabric is soft to the touch. It also breathes well while shielding you from wind chill.
As other reviewers have stated, this robe is immense with regard to it's sizing; I'm 6' 2", 185lbs and if I leave it uncinched I'm swimming in the thing, so if you're a large or tall costumer this thing will more than fulfill your needs.
Myself, I'm going to have to alter it a bit so I don't have quite so much excess fabric.
The 'sash/belt' that comes with the robe is of a very modest quality. It's a simple cotton strip that has been folder over and sewn at the ends with a box stitch. Simple, but effective.
My only real problem with the robe is the hood, which has a tendency to fall down over my eyes, and I find myself pulling it back on a fairly regular basis.
Perhaps I'll sew in some velcro to give the hood a secure fitting point.
Regardless, it's a great piece for costuming - highly recommended.
