Just what I wanted
I am a tall woman, so I ordered men's to get the extra leg length and girth.   They are prefect.  I had checked on the Minnetonka site.

Now, I have a high vamp, so it was quite a tug to get my feet into them, but they did go in, and I expect that to stretch some in use.    I was worried for a while beause they have no tongue - it just is one piece - nice, as it won't slide, but a hard putll when putting them on,.  I mean tight.  But, once they are on they fit great.

They might be narrow for a man's foot.  I usually wear women's 10 so I can wear socks.  I got the Men's 8, and thery won't go over any socks or pants  - yet.

Love 'em to bits...
These tall - and to my mind gorgeously sleek - lace-up moccasins fit true to size (sufficient toe space) and quite snugly too, so if you have broad-ish feet these boots may not necessarily be for you. These boots are well put together and the slender natural rubber soles provide ample grip and a wonderfully tactile walking experience. My one and only criticism is the original leather laces that come supplied with these boots. These laces are a tad on the flimsy side and they snap pretty easily. I already replaced mine with something rather more sturdy. These tall lace-up mocs (mine are brown in US size 9) have quickly become part of my everyday attire and I prefer wearing them with my kilt or a pair of 501 jeans.

Fit as expected
I normally take a 8 1/2 wide in boots. Ordered a 9 in these and was a little nervous after reading the sizing issues in the other reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and fit comfortably.

Tell the factory............................
I stand 6'0" and don't take a size 11 in anything.  But that's what I ordered thinking that wherever these are made, they're not going to be true to size.
I have plenty of room in the toe.  The left boot fits tolerably tight, the right one intolerably tight.  In fact, someone needs to tell the factory in the Dominican Republic that when footwear sizes increase in length, the width increases as well as does the SOLE of the item.  The soles on these are way too undersized and narrow to be comfortable.  But they are lacta heavea (natural rubber) and that's a plus, although they are impossibly thin as a sole should be a lot thicker.

These are marked as size Men's 11, but they fit wicked narrow like a size 11-A (or more like the width of a men's size 9 1/2 D shoe).  I want the pair below, that size 13 that was too big for that guy.

Way too big
Ordered a size 13, since that's what I wear in every other shoe ever. Way too big. Almost an inch of space left over in the toe, and the height on these things is crazy. They come up past the edge of the kneecap. I'm 6'1". I don't have short legs.

I have an older black pair that fit like a glove, and go to just about an inch below the kneecap.

I'm returning these and will order a size down to see if that improves fit.

High Boots without Fringe
I've had my boots for almost 20 years and I have been amazed at how well they have stood up. While I don't wear them but for Halloween or the odd medieval festival I have logged a lot of miles both on urban and rural terrain and they've never bothered me once. I have had ONE string break but that was after the horse I was on decided to brush by a thicket which snagged a lace. I always have lots of slack to the laces when putting them on or taking them off, tightening them from the bottom laces up so as not to stress the lace or eyelets.  They've been one of the better buys I've made from MR, and one I would happily do again when replacements are required.

This product was returned due to the narrowness at the ankle.  although we ordered a size larger than what was necessary, were unable to have the foot bend to reach the inside of the shoe part.

Wore these this weekend to The Texas Renaissance Festival.  First the lace on the left boot broke while tying. Second, same boot seemed to be throwing me to the inside.  Later in the day I discovered the heel and possibly other parts of the sole were malformed.  Third, by the end of the day the leather on top and side of the foot had ripped and now had holes.  The leather is very light weight and the  shaft did  not  stay upright even though tied tightly.  The boots look like Minnetonka boots but are NOT. DO NOT BUY.

I got my black hig boots without fringr this afternoon. First off, I really liked the fact that the "tongue" is sewn to the edges of the boot opening, so that it isn't able to move after extended wear. Second, the overall construction of the boots appears to be very sturdy, allowing for rugged SCA/LARP/Ren faire activities. But best of all, they are SO comfortable! I feel confident that I could wear these all day with no worries at all. Thanks for a great pair of boots!

Awful. As mentioned before, the sole is just foam, and will tear after your first wearing. Also, the leather is very thin around the heel, and mine split within two  hours of the first wearing. the lacing is also crap, and the holes for lacing are shoddily punched

I got these recently in black and like someone else had said, first time lacing up the laces snapped. So I got some red ribbon to use as laces instead(which works with my garb colors anyhow so no big loss). I had a pair of tall leather mocs years ago for my Ren Faire garb and back then had no option of without fringe so I had to cut it off myself, lol! The newer mocs without the fringe are much better. And the bottoms are made of flip flop like material so you get about as much padding as flip flops, however, if it's not thick enough, you can probably put some insoles in to extra pad it. Better than the old style with just the double leather bottom for sure! I normally wear a size 9 to 9 1/2 in womens shoes, so I got a size 8 in the mens and they fit great. Not too big, not small, quite comfy.

These boots are fine for what they are...just don't expect them to be anything else!  They are the Tandy Leather moccasins you made while in Cub Scouts.  The sole is a 3/8" soft foam sole with no insole.  As such, the boots are lightweight enough to be comfortable, but your feet/knees WILL hurt after a full day's walking!  As mentioned by others and in my other posts (See Assassins Creed II/Ezio costume), go ahead and replace all leather thongs in this and other products.  They are worthless and will break multiple times.  (You can look at them and predict where.)  Replace them before they break somewhere where you won't be able to.
