Special, Was $245, Now Only $199! Circa 1400
Despite having several names; War Sword, Great Sword, Long Sword and even Two-Hand Sword (thus causing some confusion among collectors), the large sword was quite a popular weapon. This sword has great length giving it both reach and power. As the length increased the velocity increased substantially. However, with the addition of the long ricasso, the sword became even more formidable. The ricasso allowed the sword to be gripped past the guard, thus shortening the sword and allowing it to be used as short spear. This made a thrust more solid since the blade is held securely at two separate points.
Our version of this sword is as formidable weapon as the originals. The blade is high carbon steel, tempered to a tough spring, the grip is ridged wood, wrapped with leather, and the pommel and guard are steel. Comes complete with leather scabbard. This is an interesting sword type that belongs in all collections of swords. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Scabbard included. Can be sharpened for additional fee.
Reminds me slightly of my Albion Viceroy. I just unwrapped it today and it is an excellent sword. Going to do a new wrap on the grip and take the high polish off the cross guard and pommel. So excited!

Finally! A model of sword most closely resembling a 'Talhoffer' style longsword/ bastardsword of any I've seen currently produced/offered in the 'battle ready' sword industry.
In 1095 steel, what should be the 'paramount' model/design to anyone collecting or practicing with pre-rapier, European style sword combat.

Absolutely beautiful!! Nice temper on the blade. Balanced perfectly for a sword of this type (at the forte). Anyone who thinks this sword is lousy has no knowledge of what makes a quality sword.

A marvelous sword! As I already have several in my collection costing several times the price of this sword I was pleasantly surprised at the fine workmanship of this blade! A fine blade Windlass, well done! As to the critic I scarcely believe he could be rating the same sword?

I recieved my sword this afternoon, and upon unpacking it I found a beautifully made work of craftsmanship. After carefully unwrapping it and giving it a skight buff with a polishing cloth, I held in my hand, a well balanced and swift two handed sword. Being a bit of a metal smith myself I take my hat off to the fine bladesmiths of Windlass Steelcrafts, and say job well done!

I cannot believe that you could call a blade like this "lousy" without giving any reasons!! It's quite obvious that you dont know much about swords.

This sword is the absolute pride and joy of my collection. Not only is it beautiful, well balanced, and finely tempered, it is quite simply an inspiring weapon to behold.

A nice replica; a nice sword; nicely made; correctly configured; reveals the essence of this type of weapon and why they were useful. It is fast and able to deliver a very heavy blow, yet quite favorably disposed to quick recovery. Joe B
