Sword of La Bicocca

#501122
$255.00

Although the rapier is strongly associated with the Renaissance, it was generally considered a civilian weapon. An effective cutting sword was more often used by the military and was much preferred in many countries, even by civilians. This offering is well-balanced and very quick with its jimped steel parts, hardwood and leather grip, and well-tempered high carbon steel blade. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes scabbard. Can be sharpened for additional charge.

I can't believe that this fantastic sword has not sold out already--considering the incredibly low price! I bought a pair immediately--and I'm tempted to buy another pair! This fine blade is a smaller, shorter & lighter version of the Italian Hand-and-a-half which recently sold out on Closeout. It has the same blade and guard pattern. While the larger sword would have been carried by a hard-bitten 15th-17th Century mercenary soldier, this sword probably would have been carried by a civilian--or maybe by an officer of mercenaries. In those days even a civilian away from home definitely needed a good sword.
