The long struggle between the German emperors of the Holy Roman Empire and the Italian city states dominated much of the later Middle Ages.  The Battle of Cortenuova, where the Germans routed the Italian Lombard League, was one of its largest battles. We have chosen a sword as one that could have been used by either side in that great battle. Brass parts and a leather wrapped wood grip complete this striking one-handed cutting sword. Scabbard included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Can be sharpened for additional charge.

I ordered this sword because I wanted the brass. They sent me a different sword that had no brass, then wanted me to pay return postage to get a refund. This may be a good sword, but I can't tell.

The picures do not do this sword justice. Very, very nice in person. Excellent weight and balance. Brass fittings are excellent and blade is great. Jump on this if you are on the fence on this one as there are only a few left.

A well-balanced sword- wide at the base, sharp at the tip, but the taper is not pronounced enough to weaken the strike of the blade. Though quick, it is not the quickest blade, but it soars through the air and feels very at home during the swing. Weapon begs for multiple cuts, flowing from one to another. Heavier than one might expect from a blade with this taper, but excellently balanced and very quick.
