This sword isn't bad, the fittings were tight but the blade was extremely whippy and thin. The sharpening done by MRL didn't make the sword very sharp. The sword is gorgeous though.

Others complained about loose fittings and a thin whippy blade. The sword I received had none of these problems. It is a very good looking sword. The blade is stiff enough and well balanced, about 3" up the blade. The sharpening was decent. The grip is a little slippery, but as it is advertised as a ceremonial sword, that's hard to hold against it. My only real complaints are that the gold plaiting on the wire wrap on the hilt is uneven, but not noticeable from a distance, and some markings (glue?) on the scabbard fittings. DO NOT use the sample of Flitz metal polish that they give you on the gold plating. Luckily I noticed the damage before it became too obvious. It would be a good idea for them to make it explicit that this polish will very easily remove gold plating. All in all it was a good bargain at the reduced "Deal of the Day" price. Daniel W

I was surprised that this one is as nice as it is. Good sword that displays well in the collection. Can be used for cutting - but looks better as a display given the nice pommel and guard.
