I gave sword to my son as a symbol of him reaching a milestone in life as a graduate of ALERT Academy Basic training. A first responder Christian Academy. He loves the sword and it's very well made and I'm very pleased with the sword.  Will Dhority

This is my 1st real functional sword. I have others that are display only but this one tops them in quality. I paid extra to get it sharpened cause I wanted the real thing. This is truly a beautiful sword and is the center of my entire collection.

This really is a great sword. I was worried being a movie sword it may not cut it. It handles great and the construction is very good. It's well worth the price. No scabbard available.

Love it. I paid a little extra for it to be sharpened, and it was well worth the money. Everything seems hand made and vintage looking. Exceeds expectations.

For the money, you can't go wrong with this one. The fuller is nicely done and gives great balance to this hefty sword. Despite being among a collection of many more expensive swords in my house, this is the one that draws the most admiration from people viewing my collection. I would like it more with a cross on both sides of the pommel, but at this price, it still gets 5 stars. Buyer beware, however, as the scabbards for these swords are exceedingly rare.

This is one of the more superior blades made by Windlass Steelcrafts - nearly identical in quality to their Kingdom of Heaven replica blades, which I might add, are excellent. The blade is tight, decently heavy, and gorgeous to look at. Also, despite what any of these reviews state, this sword has a peened, not a threaded pommel. I ordered it with the belt and scabbard as they were both on sale due to black friday, and I cannot be happier with the quality of my purchase. While I would not take this sword to any hard object (no trees, buy a Darksword Armoury sword for that), it will last a very long time when properly taken care of due to the high quality carbon steel blade. 5 Stars to Windlass Steelcrafts for an excellent sword, and 5 Stars to Museum Replicas for outstanding customer service.

I bought this a few weeks back, and it is the best sword i currently own. it is completely Battle Ready! some people were complaining about the holes for the plaque being drilled in the back, but all you have to do to is stick an opened paper clip through the hole, and it popps right through. I will definently do buissness with Museum Replicas again.

I bought this piece at the sale price of $145 and couldn't be happier. So why the 4 stars??? balance.

As a work of art, the sword is beautiful (and better looking than most in my collection of 22 now). However, despite how excellent the blade is, the whole sword is top heavy because the handle and pommel are not heavy enough.

Out of all the swords I have purchased from MRL, this is the least functional and the only one I would NOT willingly take into the zombie Apocalypse... which is a bummer because you want to look awesome when you are killing zombies... and it looks awesome. ;)  Good luck!

Just got the sword in today so of course I had to take it for the theoretical test drive. Prior reviews are correct in the lack of comfort of the handle but I think this sword was meant more for display than full time use. I ordered the sword sharpened and tested it on some tatami tubes.  Cuts great and the balance is awesome.  One review stated how the display plaque was poorly designed and this is true.  There are however two small holes on the back of the plaque and I just took a long skinny sowing needle and marked the holes on the front so it didn't damage the artwork and then used the provided mounting screws and it worked great!!!  Surely worth the sale price for a well made weapon.

Although this sword has an excellent blade, and came very sharp, I agree that the handle it a bit awkwrd and uncomfortable to handle it effectively. But based on looks and quality, it definitely rates five stars. Very satisfied!

Here are some things the description doesn't tell you. The blade is full tang and the pommel is peened, not screw on (which peened is the best).

The blade that I got was really sturdy and absolutely zero hilt shake. Everything was flush and tight. The blade is carbon steel which is nice and light (not that stainless garbage). I got mine sharpened through Museum Replicas service and it cuts nice and clean. No issues.

Just one issue with this sword. The balance isn't the greatest but it is still pretty darned good.

With the wall plaque, whoever made that put the holes for the screws to hold the sword on the wrong side so there is no way for me to mount the sword to the plaque unless I drill my own holes... Not to happy with that aspect. I don't want to work on my display plaque after I already bought the thing.

I bought mine at $145. The price at the moment is $125. For this price, you will not get a good looking sword that functions as this one will for cheaper. Not to mention it's the sword from Robin Hood eh?

All in all, this sword is great and I do not regret my purchase. If you are thinking of buying another piece for your collection, or looking to start a collection, just buy this. Don't think about it. It's nice and you will not be disappointed. 4 stars for the so-so balance and the plaque issue (mainly the plaque issue).

P.S. If you are worrying about it being heavy, don't worry about it. It's really not heavy at all unless you are very very weak :P

Fantastic sword! Not just a good-looking movie prop--but a functional Medieval battle blade! Ordered it after seeing the movie and then seeing it on sale here! Should have ordered a pair, but decided to save up money to get the scabbard, belt, and pouch!
