This thing is tough and functional, the only reason its not a 5 star is the sheath is a poorly made and the blade sharpening service was trash. I was able to give it a good edge myself however and am very pleased with the results. A warning to those of weaker grip and coordination, this blade is heavy for its length( falchion was for cleaving armor after all) and if you hold it lightly it will fly out of your hand, and whatever it hits will take serious damage so be aware. That being said I've used it as a machete felling small trees with less focused effort than a hand axe. Overall I give a strong recommendation for the blade alone, not the extra services.

Very heavy chopping sword. Must have been feared on the battle field. well made and had it sharpened, it came razor sharp.

This sword looks great. The handle felt fine in the hand but all in all it was a bit heavy. It was the same width the entire length of the blade and the false edge wasn't sharpened. With a bit of a distal tapper it would have been perfect.

This is a solid, functional sword. The blade itself is quite thick and heavy - it took me quite a lot of time with a belt-sander to get it sharpened up, and it's still more tip-heavy then I was hoping, so if you don't have that equipment and want it sharpened then I recommend the factory sharpening (which is good on some other swords I've bought from MR). The pommel is peened, and so the piece has good construction. The little cross-shaped cut-outs in the guard are tolerably well executed, but could be more even. This is an excellent value as an entry-level piece, but it could be more historical with a lighter, thinner, and more nimble blade. As it stands, it's more of a heavy chopper. It's functional for that, though.

Sad to see this one is closing out. It is one of my favorites. Light nimble fierce point. Handle is small, I'm ok with that with my little English/Irish hands. Closeout. I like this so much i may get another just because.

Been waiting for this one to go on DOD and it finally did. Beautiful sword and was delivered well packaged as always. Had this sword sharpened as I do with all my many other MR swords. Very sharp and can’t wait to test it out.
All in all, another great sword added to the collection.

I bought this sword well over 10 years ago. Was the second sword from Museum Replicas that I bought. Still my all time favorite sword from them. I got it sharpen and boy is it sharp and I have no problems keeping that way. Just an great over all looking weapon and a very good feel.

I like this falchion a lot it handles good enough for me and cuts nice. But only 4 stars because the original falchion was 3 inches longer then this replica which I have seen in a Osprey book.

I had wanted this Falchion for many years and when I finally got it I was not dissapointed. All the parts are well made and well put together. The thick pommel balances out the blade well. Love the feel of this sword!

Museum Replicas NEVER Disappoints
I purchased this blade as a gift for friends, and as always, I wasn't disappointed in the fit and finish. Everything mates up tightly, and it looks fantastic!

Falchion...NO mere machete
I just received my Falchion from MRL, when it went on DoD I had to grab it, despite some reviews calling it a battle machete or poorly balanced ( which seems to be a misconception of the historical Falchion) I was surprised to hold a wonderful weapon. The PoB is about 4 and a half from hilt, good for a slicer but handles well in the recovery and is not the "medieval machete " many reviews called it. It is a slicing sword, and is balanced as such. The nice heavy pommel aids in recovery as well. Very nice piece, would definately recommed.

Lovely sword....truly a beast. As others have said it is an ax in sword form...very blade heavy...study. I opted for the sharpening service and they went above and beyond...almost lost a finger while opening the product...deadly sharp...very nice addition to my collection and as always service is above par...these guys are great!
