This type of sword would have been present on battlefields throughout Europe as well as serving early settlers in the new world. This handsome weapon could be used with one hand, but excelled when used with both hands for foot combat. The stout steel guard has thick rings to protect the hands and helps concentrate more weight near the hilt to make the sword quicker. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes scabbard. Can be sharpened for additional fee.

A well-crafted sword; properly balanced(1.5 inches above guard), tightly assembled (nothing loose or wobbly), & a nicely tapered and polished blade. Gave 5 stars because my one tiny complaint is not with the sword itself: Came with a generous coating of dust and a spot of easily dealt with rust at the tip; is a quick swipe with a paper towel and WD-40 before shipping too much to ask for?

Very nice blade. It looks authentic for the 15th - 16th Century. It feels quite solid in my hands, with no cheap parts. I haven't tried it out in combat, as this is merely a show accessory. I am quite satisfied with my purchase.
