Like the Cobra Steel Falcata (#402532), this survival knife features a hand-forged, X46Cr13 high grade stainless steel blade which has been fully tempered in state-of-the-art computer controlled ovens to a Rockwell hardness of 48º so it will flex in a cut and come back for more. Weather resistant rubber handle for comfort, positive grip on a full profile tang for great performance while absorbing shock. Inspired by Eastern and African swords and knives with inward curving blades. A great bush and defense pattern. Includes a riveted leather scabbard. Comes with a razor sharp edge.

I've had my eye on this model in the Cobra Steel line for some time and took advantage of the holiday sale, bought two. They came fairly sharp and I tuned them up to very sharp with little trouble. The sheaths are clunky but functional, the rubber scales are a little squarish but I'll grind the corners down. The somewhat seax-like design has both warrior and utility to it's look, the most noticeable characteristic the really murderous descending point, which the photos do not do justice.

5 stars because this is pretty much as advertised... Don't think you'll beat it at this price... And you could beat this thing quite a bit... Arrives semi sharp... A few passes on a belt sharpener brought it right up to speed...
