Effigy Sword

#501100
$265.00

We have taken this sword from the funeral brass of Sir Roger Elmbrygge as a prime example of a sword used for thrusting. Though it’s wide enough to cut, armor had become so well made by this period that only small areas of the body were unprotected and a sword with a sharp point was needed to find them. A knight’s best armor and weapons were always chosen to be represented on these grave etchings and this sword is a beauty of form and function. The parts are gleaming brass, the grip is wood with leather cord and the sharply tapered blade is from fully tempered high carbon steel on this well-balanced, one-hand thrusting sword. Scabbard included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Can be sharpened for additional charge.

Excellent!
Excellent Late Middle Ages sword.  Very light and quick.  Very nicely balanced.  The long tapered blade more suited for thrusting versus slashing, but thick enough to be used that way as well.
