The tough layered foam, high quality latex and the specially developed paint we utilize for our latex weapons have been researched for long lasting play and a non-cracking finish. I have some mixed feelings about this weapon. There are definitely some good points and some bad as well.

For one thing, the picture is a bit deceptive. The Blade looks silvery and movie like in the picture. However, the actual blade is more of a dark greyish/black. It is a little disappointing.

Also, the sword was a little damaged from the straps that were used to hold it in place. It is noticeable, but only from one side.

The guard on this piece also seems a little bit flimsy. I don't LARP, so I'm not sure if this is a common thing with all Latex swords, and not really something to worry about, or just this one, but it seems easily bent and makes me worry that it will snap if used. They were also bent forward just a little instead of inline with the blade. This issue, however, is only noticeable when you look really close.

With all that said, this sword is still pretty cool. For one thing, it is huge and feels nice and study. In spite of the cosmetic issues of the sword (the greyish/black blade) it is still pretty cool to look at and keep around. For the most part, I'm reasonably pleased with it. If the price had been set a little lower, I may  have been inclined to up the rating to 4 stars.
