I give this belt and rapier carrier a 3-star rating and warn any prospective purchasers that it's more like a do-it-yourself project than a finished piece of gear. I wore the brand-new belt and carrier for the first time tonight (Halloween, 2016); it popped two rivets while I was in the process of putting it on -- one which held the belt buckle and the front angle-adjustment strap and the other that fastened the other end of the angle-adjustment strap. I kid you not, I had to resort to strapping it back together with duct tape; fortunately that improvised repair held for the duration of the Halloween party, but as soon as I returned home, I got out a package of Tandy long-shanked rivets and replaced the thin, weak rivets that had broken. On a more positive note, the leather is of adequate thickness and is relatively well finished, unlike much Indian-made leather of times past. However, there is no excuse for a brand-new product to self-destruct on first wearing. None.
