Sporran comes from the Gaelic sporan and Irish sparan, meaning purse or pouch. Part of the traditional dress of the Scottish Highlanders, this leather pouch is meant to be hang within easy reach from the front of the belt on the kilt. This rugged pebble-grain sporran has a trio of leather tassels decorating the front. This pouch, which is 6-3/4" x 7-3/4" when closed, comes complete with a 46" leather belt. Approximate weight is 14 oz. The front flap has steel snap.
This just arrived in the mail. It is of a very fine quality, and also very practical. The sporran's interior is very spacious.
