This Scottish Medieval sword has a wide cutting blade.  The long cross guard features stylized thistles on the ends.  The wood grip swells for a good grasp and is wrapped in cord and leather that is crowned with a steel pommel.  No scabbard so your blade is always in your hand ready to defend against the English oppressor.

Note: This sword was produced in extremely limited numbers using new, but spare parts from other production runs.  While it never made it into the pages of our catalog, and may not have any direct counterpart in history, it was still made using the same techniques and high quality materials as our other weapons. A truly rare chance to own a very unique weapon.
  • Overall: 44-1/2"
  • Blade: 34-1/2" long, 2" wide 3/16" thick
  • Wt: 3 lbs/8 oz

This is a nice display sword. Would not rate it as functional. Weight, balance, and blade makes this feel like using a crowbar.

What a great deal! Having been an MRL customer for many years now, I recognise all the assorted parts used to assemble this offering. Yes, it's quite blade-heavy, but, that should put some power behind a good, sweeping cut. Though I plan to alter this sword, straight from MRL it's a beauty. Perfect for the wall or a back hanger at Faire.

Why this sword has not made it to the main list is beyond me. Finish is excellent, quillion is perfect, blade heavy to be sure but at only 3lbs 8 it moves very well. Mine is not edged but the blade is so well formed it would not take to long to hone on something very useful. This is a 'simple piece of art' nicely done thank you.
