The artisans at Windlass worked closely with the creative team at Blizzard Entertainment to bring this amazing piece to life.
Whosoever takes up this blade shall wield power eternal. Just as the blade rends flesh, so must power scar the spirit. Such was the warning given to all who would seek to wield Frostmourne, the most powerful runeblade in existence. Driven to save his homeland from disaster, Prince Arthas Menethil joined Muradin Bronzebeard in seeking out the legendary runeblade. At the Lich King’s urging, Arthas used Frostmourne to kill his father and shatter the Frozen Throne. Today the new Lich King sits on his icy throne, silently plotting his next move, the cursed runeblade ready at his side. Approx 47” overall, 28” blade. A safe and enjoyable collectible for all ages and fans of the world’s most popular online game. NERO approved
This fully approved and licensed latex LARP weapon has a realistic look and finish and is the finest on the market. A hard rubber handle and real suede wrapping ensures both great balance and a firm grip for complete control. The tough layered foam, high quality latex and the specially developed paint we utilize has been researched for long lasting play and a non-cracking finish. Police-grade Kevlar, used in our sword tips, guarantees a non-tearing thrust. Though the fiber cores of t this weapon is lightweight, it commands the strength to withstand excessive pounds of stress. All of the chemicals and compounds used in this sword have been proven OSHA safe.
Please Note: This is not a metal weapon; it is a quality latex weapon for LARP and other forms of action play. See this video demonstrating the quality, construction and durability of our Latex Weapons.
The details are great. But seriously... you want $149 for a peice of plastic? I'd rather go the distance and pay $429 for it's metal counterpart. Come on, you guys can do better.

while i am depating getting it imported to aus i have to say it looks good and is well priced FOR WHAT IT IS!!!
its not just a fake sword made out of latex that i can get anywhere it is an offical licensed branded replica of a in game item. that alone is enoguh to push the price up. yep they were able to keep total price under $200 (i would charge $250 to custom make out of cheap painted wood) so i feel they have done a job well done and like i said if P&H to aus is cheap enough may very well buy one

Seriously, to the people who are getting up in arms about it not being metal: ITS A LARP SWORD. IT IS MEANT TO BE USED IN LARPS. And latex weaponry of this detail doesn't come cheap either. Its a good price, especially since you won't find it anywhere else.
And if you want a metal one, they've made them already. Learn to read and do your research before posting a review of a sword you don't even own.

WoW sword is a great idea, but going cheap making it latex is wrong. A couple years ago i bought a fantasy sword from an online company (google for the win) and purchased a great short sword like this one that was all steel with skull details etc for $129 on sale. The sword i bought is a real sword that will last long past my lifetime and be a collectors item. This latex is just a toy that will degrade over the years and rot. Save your money for a metal collectable.

For those of you who dont LARP, why are you in the LARP section? Also when latex weapons first came out, this was the average price. for a good metal one 400 sounds like a good price. and as far as the nerf swords are concerned, they are cheap gay rip offs of real latex weapons.
10/28/2009
Anonymous User
Hey EVERYONE! Don't rate it if you don't want a latex weapon. (That's right I said latex NOT PLASTIC!) If you wanted metal then go somewhere else. I'm sure there is a metal version of this else where. Also, it's $150 because latex is hard to work with. So STOP lowering the rating if you don't like it because of what it is. Lower it only if you use latex weapons for LARP and don't like it.

In person this sword looks like metal. I didn't realize it was made of latex until someone took a swing at my arm and I felt the soft thud.
10/27/2009

My surprise is not the price or the quality. I'm just surprised that with all of the allergies out there, they chose latex as the material.
10/27/2009

For those that don't understand the concept of a latex sword I would like to state that not only is this great for LARPS but us convention people love swords like this. A metal sword could be banned or have to have major peace tying which takes away from great pic moments. This is perfect for a convention cosplay. I personally don't mind the price yes its high but for those of us cosplaying we want a quality look.

10/27/2009

As a collector of edged weaponds, I find thet this piece seems well made and great fordisplay or use. Those in the martial arts would agree this item,( and others like it), are very useful in training beginners as it has much less chance of causing injuries and/or damage to clothing. As far as larp and theatrics it would do well as its appearence, agility, and balance would be idea for "close combat" move w/o conserns of A) damaging a $250.00 metal sword. B) again safety issues.
Basicly, if you have the money and can spare it, go for it, if you can't afford it, just keep complaining about the price. :P

This is a Latex Weapon people. NOT a plastic toy. Geez, a good Latex weapon will cost around $60-$80. This is a World of Warcraft licensed latex weapon, of course it will be more expensive than a regular Latex weapon, but it sure as hell isn't plastic. Also, The metal version they sold of Frostmourne was over $400 and sold out almost immediately.

pricing - Terrible! it should be metal for that price. also, what about the people who have a Latex Allergy?
10/25/2009
Anonymous User
For people who say this is too expensive for a latex sword. A normal LARP sword costs around 80-150 euros in germany what is about 100-180 dollars. And this sword looks really graet and it is a WoW replica so they need to pay blizzard mony for every sword they sale I think. So it is a good price. I will not buy it because it is not the kind of sword I want to larp with. But for a WoW-LARP this is just epic!!

I think the price is a bit high, assuming $25-$30 each in manf costs. I'd pay $85-$100 for this item. Make me a metal one for $275 and I'd buy that too. (yes, the other one that's $500 is far too much). $100 for the incredible detail, and especially if it is as sturdy as the video suggest. $100 and I'll buy it. Thanks!

Blizzard has a Vince McMahon complex. Make a piece of crap and charge a high price and people will still buy it because it's Their product. It's $150 for a toy sword. A TOY!! If it were real, I'd get it. Not paying $500 for the real one either, that's just dumb.
