The Magna Carta was one of the inspirations for the American Revolution. There are strong influences from the Magna Carta in the American Bill of Rights, written in 1791. And the basic principles of the Magna Carta are seen in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, written shortly after WWII in 1948.
